No horsin' around

Everyone keeps telling me to add to my blog. Nothing noteworthy has happened for awhile. Thad made it home from Iraq about a month ago. I was going to take pictures but never did. It is now the dog days of summer so I finally made a trip to St. George and picked up a horse from Tom. The horses name is Mocha. She will probably spend a lot of time in Idaho at the "ranch".

New Look

I hope you all like the new look I created for our blog today. Many thanks go to Sunny who helped me figure out what I needed to do.

Thad is still in Iraq. Hope to have him home by mid May. He would really appreciate it if you sent him an email. He is not very good at writing back but he loves the notes just the same. His email address is: thadius.putnam@blab.centaf.af.mil The Domino's in the picture are a sample of what I sent him to while away those endless hours without family. I made these out of African Mahogany. Atley and Carter plays with them every time they come over.

You would think that I am into making mirrors! Just finished this one for Wynters wedding. It is a 1745 Queen Anne Mirror replica. I now have the router bits needed to make the molded frames. I hope Travis and Wynter will enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

There really is a mirror in the frame.

Margaret's New Mirror

Just before going to Seattle I had the chance to build a mirror for our front room. It is of the Arts and Crafts Era style (early 1900's) It is made from quarter sawn oak with a red and dark brown stain. The mirror is 2' high by 3' wide.

Gracie Cruz born today at 7:50 A.M. to Gregory and Elissa Cruz 8 lbs. 1 0z. and 21 inches long.
Looks like Elissa and Greg did a good job on this one. She seems to be a keeper.
